“Today’s appointment was a consultation. I felt safe and at ease with their COVID-19 safety rules and distancing. Everyone was very nice and Dr. Mohn was gentle and informative. I am looking forward to my next visit. They gave me a hopeful feeling about my teeth.”

At Health Centered Dentistry, we truly believe that prevention is the best medicine. We would much rather see you in our office twice yearly for your regular cleanings and exams, than not see you for a few years and have to treat advanced gum disease (periodontitis) or do complex restorative work. We want to help our patients maintain optimum oral health by preventing painful and costly complications before they arise.
The most important factors when it comes to preventive care include:
Eat a healthy, balanced diet.
Eat lots of whole foods, leafy greens, fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts, and avoid or minimize processed foods, sugar, starch, dairy and red meat. An anti-inflammatory, alkaline diet is the key to a healthy mouth and a healthy body.
Brush your teeth at least twice a day, ideally after eating or drinking, floss nightly before bed, and rinse with mouthwash for an extra boost. When brushing and flossing is not available, rinse with water to minimize plaque and acidity. Visit our Oral Hygiene page to learn how to brush and floss most effectively.
Visit your Midland dentist regularly.
Only our professional hygiene team can remove hard-to-reach plaque and tartar that can cause serious oral health problems over time.
While having your teeth cleaned regularly by a professional is extremely important, that’s not the only reason we like to see you twice yearly at Health Centered Dentistry. Your regular visits also include exams and screenings so we can keep an eye on what’s going on in your mouth, and catch any signs of potential problems before they become serious. We perform a periodontal check to look for signs of gum disease, a cavity check to look for signs of decay, and an oral cancer screening to check for abnormalities that may be potential signs of oral cancer. Early detection ensures the most effective treatment and recovery.
